Rigoberto González is the author of seventeen books of poetry and prose. His awards include a Guggenheim fellowship, an NEA, a USA Rolón fellowship, and an American Book Award. His memoir What Drowns the Flowers in Your Mouthwas a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Autobiography. Currently, he directs the MFA program at Rutgers-Newark, the State University of New Jersey.
