Emmaia Gelman is a PhD student in American Studies at New York University. An activist with deep roots in direct action on queer, antiracist, anticolonial and housing struggles, she also spent nearly a decade as a policy strategist for labor and political organizations, working primarily on housing, fiscal policy, and energy democracy.
