My dream is to be eaten by an animal
To walk into some far-flung wood while I still have the strength
And there while being stalked
These moments I hoard will gain a purity entirely mine
The real problem I have is with the lower animals
The invertebrates and all their dubious habits
Their segmented bodies and burnished exoskeletons
Which I would like to keep off me as long as possible
My dream is to be eaten by a species of mammal to be precise
More ferocious than humans
In a way impossible to condemn
These are just my deranged politics
Which I try out from time to time
At the expense of a more rigorous discourse
But seriously my dream is to be eaten by a purpose
Whose totem animal will dispossess me of this life
With the fierceness I have craved
