About This Author
David Adler is a writer and researcher based in London. He received his MPhil in Politics at the University of Oxford and was a Rhodes Scholar at New College, researching the British housing crisis and the rise of “Generation Rent.” As a Fulbright Scholar at the Colegio de México in Mexico City, he conducted research on self-help housing and the pursuit of Mexico’s constitutional right to “decent housing.” His current work focuses on the political economy of urban development. His writing has appeared in Foreign Affairs, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, Jacobin Magazine, and Current Affairs.
