At Least

      1

Water-strider‚ pond skater‚
Jesus bug

skitters across the surface
tension

and

the “least-area surface”
(flat‚ smooth)

has a surface tension
of zero.

      2

This train of thought
is not a train‚

but a tendril‚
                             blind.
It’s a line
of ants
following a scent trail.

Or a string of stragglers
on a death march.

      3

“Go cloud!”
says the stranded

traveler (actress)

with that small fist pump

now used
to indicate
irony’s uselessness.

This poem is part of BR’s special package celebrating National Poetry Month.

AT LEAST
"At Least" is an an interesting poem in "style/format." It doesn't necessarily "speak to me" otherwise. LY

What It Speaks To............
.....is the Ron Silliman claque. Time to send the Pulitzer back! (and bestow it to Frederick Seidel or perhaps Henri Cole)

And the Pulitzer goes to
Give the Pulitzer to Mark Eckert. Also, put him in charge of every awards committee. Also, get him an antacid.
